Description: A priority place is an area of high biodiversity value that is seen as a distinct place with a common ecological theme by the people who live and work there. As part of the Pan-Canadian approach to transforming species at risk conservation in Canada, a total of 11 priority places were affirmed by federal, provincial and territorial governments in December, 2018. The places selected have significant biodiversity, concentrations of species at risk, and opportunities to advance conservation efforts. In each priority place, the federal and provincial or territorial governments will work with Indigenous Peoples, partners and stakeholders to develop conservation action plans. This dataset displays the geographic area covered by each of the 11 Priority Places using the best available information from the Canadian Wildlife Service (CWS). Boundary information for each priority place was provided by its respective CWS regional office. *****Un lieu prioritaire est une zone de grande valeur pour la biodiversité qui est considéré, par les gens qui y vivent et y travaillent, comme un endroit distinct avec un thème écologique commun. Dans le cadre de l'approche pancanadienne, qui vise à transformer la conservation des espèces en péril au Canada, les gouvernements fédéraux, provinciaux et territoriaux ont confirmé un total de 11 lieux prioritaires en décembre 2018. Les lieux choisis ont une biodiversité importante, des concentrations d'espèces en péril et présentent des possibilités de faire progresser les efforts de conservation. Dans chaque lieu prioritaire, les gouvernements fédéraux, provinciaux et territoriaux travailleront avec les peuples autochtones et d'autre partenaires et intervenants à l'élaboration des plans d'action en matière de conservation. Cesdonnées démontrent la zone géographique couverte par chacun des 11 lieux prioritaires en utilisant les meilleures informations disponibles du Service canadien de la faune (SCF). Les limites géographiques de chaque lieu prioritaire ont été fournies par leur bureau régional du SCF respectif.
