Interactive Mapping Application Help
The interactive mapping application enables you to explore protected area maps to get to the data behind the protected area and find information in your area.
Using the "Quick Zoom" Selection Box
This selection box allows you to quickly zoom to an area of interest.
- Click the down arrow in the "Province:" drop-down box and press "Find" to zoom to a specific province.
- Click the down arrow in the "City" drop-down box and press "Find" to zoom to a specific city.
- Type in the first three characters of a valid Canadian postal code into the "Postal Code:" text field to and press ‘Find’ to navigate to that postal code.
Selecting a Point on the Map
To view project details, click a point on the map - the details of the project you have just selected will be displayed below the map.
Using the "Search Map" Selection Box
This selection box allows you to filter the projects by category and display them on the map as well as in the tabular format below this selection box.
Use the "Zoom In" tool to increase the scale of the map and see a more detailed view of Canada.
Use the "Zoom Out" tool to decrease the scale of the map and see a broader view of Canada.
To see the full extent of the map, click on the Canada View tool.
Use the "Pan North" tool to move the map to the North.
Use the "Pan South" tool to move the map to the South.
Use the "Pan East" tool to move the map to the East.
Use the "Pan West" tool to move the map to the West.
Use the "Get Link" tool to get an html link to the current state of the application.
Use the "All Data" tool to get information about all projects in a tabular view.
Use the "Help" tool to get a help on how to use this web mapping application.
